At its recent general meeting, the leadership of the Czech Steeplechase Association beat off an attempt to bring new blood into the Council of the Association. It was announced that only the board members of the association, and not all members, were allowed to vote for the Council members, in a secret ballot. In the secret vote, Luboš Hrubý held on to his position as chairman.  Jaroslav Jelínek, František Novák and Vítězslav Vanda were re-elected to the Council. The Board voted to replace Cestmir Olehla by Jaroslav Votava. The fifth place on Council will be taken by a representative of the Breeders Association, who will be elected later this month. This was a total defeat for those wanted change at the head of the Czech Steeplechase Association.
