No racing at Merano, according to the court in Bolzano

According to the Italian server GAET, the agreement signed on April 10th between the Town of Merano and the Martone group is not valid. This was the verdict of the court in Bolzano, which had received an objection against the validity of the agreement. The agreement, which includes the proposal to start racing again at Merano at the beginning of May, is invalid, according to the court, and thus cannot be acted on. This means that racing at Merano cannot take place at the present time. The only solution that would not put jumps racing in Italy on ice for the coming weeks and months would be to build on the original agreement, in which dealings on renting the racecourse were conducted with the former racecourse management company, Merano Maia. However, that agreement contains some disputed items concerning unpaid prizemoney from last year.
