Josef Vana senior rides very sparingly in races nowadays, but he recognizes that not only Tiumen, but also Tiumen's rider, needs to be reminded about the task that faces them on October 13th. Vana will ride Tiumen in the Velka Pardubicka qualification race at Pardubice on Saturday June 22nd. If the 12-y-o gelding and his 60-y-o jockey win the VP on October 13th, the gelding will be only the second horse, after Zeleznik, to win the race 4 times, and Josef Vana will capture the only Velka Pardubicka record that he does not already hold: he will become the oldest rider to win the race.
