A good meeting at Svetla Hora on Saturday - Sunday's meeting at Benesov has been postponed

Race meetings at upcountry courses are less of a feature of Czech racing in July and August than a few years ago, and the meeting on Saturday, July 13th at Svetla Hora, up in the hills near Bruntal, will be a special occasion. There will be seven races, six over fences and one bumper. Svetla Hora is the training establishment of top trainer, Cestmir Olehla. The first race is at 1.10 p.m.

The main race, a Category II crosscountry chase, has attracted a very good field, headed by Klaus and Valldemoso, both of which are serious contenders for the Velka Pardubicka. Cestmir Olehla has at least one runner in each of the races, including the three oldest offspring of the peerless Registana: 5-y-o Regine, 4-y-o Reaper and 3-y-o Rafa. All three have already won a race, and Reaper is quite promising.

The meeting planned for Benesov on Sunday, July 14th has been postponed until August 11th. Low-lying Benesov racecourse will have been under water during the June floods, and will now need time to recover.
