Greyhound stadium to open in Prague in September

According to Metro, July 9th issue, a greyhound stadium is to open in the Motol area of Prague, in September 2013. There is picture showing a fine stadium with a sand track, seating and a restaurant, which has been approved for use as a greyhound stadium. Starting boxes for eight (!) dogs have been imported from Australia. According to Metro, it is the only, and the most luxurious, greyhound stadium in continental Europe.

Greyhound meetings are to be held initially on Saturdays. The stadium will also have a motorcycle school and a circuit for inline skaters. The investors say that they do not expect to get their money back, they are doing it as a hobby and out of love for greyhounds.

Until now, there has been dog racing for various breeds of dogs, outside the capital city, but with only basic conditions.
