25 Czech- and Slovak-trained horses remain entered and qualified for the Velka Pardubicka

25 Czech- and Slovak-trained horses are both qualified and entered for the 2013 Velka Pardubicka. Half a dozen other horses are qualified and could be supplemented for the race. The horses are given below with their handicap rating in brackets. The rating represents a theoretical weight in kg.

Most of the horses have been lightly raced and have not necessarily shown their best form yet this year. Nevertheless, it is clear that Orphee des Blins and Trezor are a class above the rest on their form this season and also last season. Triple VP winner Tiumen must have a chance. Klaus and Budapest are class horses. Bremen Plan and Broker have high ratings based on a single good performance this year. Valldemoso seems to be a shadow of his former self. None of the others has anything in its past form that suggests it might win a Velka Pardubicka. If their names appear on the list of runners on October 4th, at least half of these horses will be aiming only at the prize money for 7th place, and at the glory connecting with getting over the Taxis and round the course. And hoping.
