Al Jaz, which finished second in the substandard September qualification race at Pardubice, has been expensively supplemented for the Velka Pardubicka, which is to be run on October 13th. 

Al Jaz produced a reasonably good performance in the qualification race, but there is nothing to suggest that this gelding has more than an outsider's chance on October 13th. He is trained by Jan Blecha, and will be ridden on October 13th by Josef Sovka, who is having his best-ever season. With plenty of our small pool of riders on the long-term injury list, Josef Sovka might have been able to get himself a more promising ride than this.
