Wroblewski: As of now we are training Orphée des Blins for England

Orphée des Blins, winner of the Velka Pardubicka Steeplechase with Ceska pojistovna is at Zhoři near Jihlava, and has completely recovered from the stress of Pardubice. Trainer Gregorz Wroblewski  is for now “keeping her ticking over”, so that another run for the mare this year is not out of the question.  The first option for her is on November 16th, when the Cheltenham crosscountry season will be set in motion at the first race meeting of the season at that racecourse. This race, which has almost been won by Velka Pardubicka winners Peruan and Registana in the past, could be a good test for Orphée des Blins.
“We’ve been contacted from England, and they seem to be interested in us running there,” Wroblewski confirms. “But we don’t have any further information available yet. If we feel that it makes sense to go to Cheltenham, we’ll probably set out, but there is still a long time to go. First we need to be clear what happens at Cheltenham and how, and then we will be able to turn our thoughts to the race in England itself.”

This year’s Crystal Cup series, which is held on racecourses in six countries, will be decided in its final race for 2012 at Cheltenham’s December meeting. Wroblewski, DS Pegas and the mare herself are well placed in this series, and some more points would move them well forward in the classification. However, Wroblewski’s view on this has not changed since last week. “If we go to England, it would be to run in November. Unfortunately, we most likely won’t have conditions to prepare her for the other date,” the DS Pegas trainer states.
In the next few days, Wroblewski will be discussing with owner Jiří Trávníček at Zhoři whether Orphée des Blins is to be prepared for a race in England.
