Apprentices give their tips for the Derby – Lucie Fialová

They really take an interest in the work that they are training for. They regularly appear in races for apprentices, and then, quite often, they attract the attention of other trainers and owners than those they do internships with. Some apprentices from the Middle School for Horseracing and Riding offer their tips for this year’s Derby.

Lucie Fialová made her debut at the international meeting for apprentices at the end of May 2016 at Bratislava. She has now ridden in a total of ten races, winning her most recent race, on June 9th at Prague Velká Chuchle on Lucian, and being placed in the prize money three times.

“My tips are Black Canyon and Sir Sun. There will be plenty of other good horses at the start, so it’s hard to say. I don’t think it’ll be a slowly run race.”
