Greek racing newsletter praises the EJC meeting

Despite his saddles going missing, and despite drawing mainly mediocre horses to ride, the greatest Greek jockey, Panagiotis Dimitsanis, was full of smiles at the European Jockeys Cup meeting at Prague Velká Chuchle, as is recorded by Hellas Horseraces Weekly Newsletter of September 5th (in English) http://www.dostihy.cz/res/archive/013/004868.pdf?seek=1504769090. See the cover of the newsletter, and also pages 12 and 13.

He rode a winner on Last Opera Song, and in his six rides in Prague he confirmed what he has been showing for the last 20 years in Greece - that he is a top-class jockey.

Several Czech riders expressed to him their interest in spending the winter working in Greece. Martina Krejčí, General Secretary of the Jockey Club of the Czech Republic, was very pleased to receive a letter of thanks from Panagiotis Dimitsanis*.

(*in fact, the letter of thanks was from Fin Powrie, the famous Australian horse racing manager now in charge at Markopoulo racecourse, who was at Prague Velká Chuchle on September 2nd. The appointment of Fin Powrie has led to a very serious effort to revitalize horseracing in Greece, which had been very badly impacted by the economic crisis, by the move from a popular racecourse near central Athens to the more distant facility that was set up for the Athens Olympics, and by a succession of corruption scandals - among other problems. Panagiotis Dimitsanis wrote a nice letter of thanks to the Greek Community in Prague for their support.)
