International jockeys invited for EJC day

The 4th European Jockeys Cup meeting will be held at Prague Velká Chuchle racecourse on Saturday, September 22nd. The following jockeys are  on the provisional invitation list:

Czech Republic: Filip Minařík, Václav Janáček, Tomáš Lukášek, Jaromír Šafář, Jan Rája
Slovakia: Jaroslav Línek, Zdeno Šmída
France: Stéphane Breux, Thomas Huet, Vincent Cheminaud, Sébastien Maillot, Thierry Thulliez, Theo Bachelot, Gérald Mossé, Julien Augé, Eddy Hardouin
Greece: Panagiotis Dimitsanis
Italy: Antonio Fresu
Sweden: Per-Anders Gråberg
Qatar: Faleh Bughanaim
Poland: Szczepan Mazur
Spain: Jose-Luis Martinez, Borja Fayos, Roberto Carlos Montenegro
Kazakhstan: Bauyrzhan Murzabayev
Ireland: Jimmy Quinn, William James Lee
United Kingdom: Fergus Sweeney
Germany: Andreas Helfenbein
Portugal: Ricardo Sousa Ferreira
Cyprus: Konstantinos Kapodistrias
Panama: Eduardo Pedroza
Russia: Wladimir Panov

The idea is to have about 12 distinguished international jockeys competing against each other on September 22nd. Gérald Mossé came for EJC day two years ago, and legendary Greek jockey Panagiotis Dimitsanis took part last year. However, top jockeys are retained by top owners and trainers, and cannot be sure until a few days before the race whether they are free come to Prague for the EJC. The organisers will sweat over the participants, but we think that most of the jockeys on the list above would genuinely like to participate. I do not remember a jockey from Portugal, Qatar or Cyprus riding here before. Filip Minařík, Eduardo Pedroza, Wladimir Panov and Bauyrzhan Murzabayev ride in Germany. Per-Anders Gråberg won the Czech One Thousand Guineas this year on Lady Westminster, and Wladimir Panov won our Derby on Blessed Kiss. Both races were run at Prague Velká Chuchle.
