Orphee des Blins is pulled up at Cheltenham

After running prominently for three quarters of the Glenfarclass crosscountry steeplechase at Cheltenham, Orphee des Blins was no longer able to go with the pace after the sixth from home. Jan Faltejsek, who had given her a good ride, pulled her up at the last fence, when she no longer had a chance of finishing in the prize money. Trainer Greg Wroblewski concluded that the mare hated the soft ground, while jockey Jan Faltejsek blamed the hot pace of the race. In any event, Orphee was as well beaten by the winner, Uncle Junior, as he had been beaten by her at Pardubice a month earlier.
