The Velka Pardubicka enters the year leading up to the 130^th running of the race with a stable race-naming partner. “Slavia Insurance has extended its collaboration for two more years, and that means that the company’s name will be linked with the Velka Pardubicka until at least 2021,” says Karel Waisser, general manager of Slavia Insurance. In addition, Slavia Insurance will collaborate with Dostihový spolek on some other projects.  

Slavia Insurance took over as the race-naming partner of the oldest and toughest race in the Czech Republic in the middle of 2019. “We have decided to take up the option to extend our collaboration for a further period of two years. This will also involve increasing our business links and extending our cooperation, which will be based on using the racecourse area for Slavia Insurance events. We are also considering having a race sponsored by Slavia Insurance on one of the VP qualification race days,” Waisser adds.

“We have of course welcomed Slavia Insurance’s decision. It confirms that our choice of a partner was correct, and that, by linking two strong, Czech, traditional brands, we have found a strong ally,” says Petr Kvaš, deputy chairman of the board of Dostihový spolek and deputy mayor of the Town of Pardubice.

Slavia Insurance officially became the race-naming partner of the Velka Pardubicka in August 2019, just a few days before the third of the four VP qualification races for the 129^th running of the Velka Pardubicka. The insurance company got involved in the second half of the 2019 season. “This year, Slavia Insurance had a part in the Horses in Action show, and for future years we are negotiating to extend our collaboration into non-racing areas as well as races. We believe that both parties are happy with our partnership, and that we have plenty more scope for further activities,”  says Jaroslav Müller, executive manager of Dostihový spolek

In 2020, the Velka Pardubicka will be celebrating a major jubilee. The 130^th running of the legendary race will be held on the second Sunday in October. Celebrations and memories of the history of the Velka Pardubicka will run throughout the 2020 season.
