The Velka Pardubicka will be run on Sunday, October 9th.

Declarations to run in the 132nd Velka Pardubicka with Slavia Insurance, and also declarations of riders, close on Friday, September 30th.

Santa Klara ran at Merano last weekend. She finished lame and is not expected to be declared to run in the Velka.

Jan Faltejsek, who has ridden 5 winners of the Velka Pardubicka – Orphee des Blins x3, Charme Look and Tzigane du Berlais – is injured, and is not expected to be among the jockeys.

If you make a late decision to come from abroad, a smart option is to spend the night in a hotel near the top end of Wenceslas Square, i.e. within walking distance of the main railway station. There are quite frequent fast trains to Pardubice main station. There will be a very frequent free-of-charge Pardubice town public transport bus service to the racecourse from directly outside the main concourse of Pardubice railway station. Just join the queue for these buses.

Going by car, by bus or by taxi is an inferior option, as there will be long delays due to tailbacks on the approach roads to Pardubice, to the racecourse and to the car parking areas. Public service buses and taxis will be given priority in the last couple of kilometres nearest to the racecourse.

The first race will be at about 11 a.m., so a train leaving Prague at around 8.30 would be ideal. There are seven races on the card, and the Velka will be run at 4 p.m., as the final race of the afternoon.
