The Czech St Leger, run at Prague Velka Chuchle, was won very comfortably by Always on Sunday, from Saltanat, winner of the Czech Oaks, and Mister Aviation, winner of the Czech Derby. This was yet another classic race win for trainer Frantisek Holcak, and the Monte Negro Stable, owned by Jiri Posad, is also doing very well. Monte Negro owns not only Always on Sunday, but also 2013 Derby winner, Mister Aviation, and 2012 Derby winner, Kadyny. Always on Sunday was ridden by Milan Zatloukal. French-bred Always on Sunday is by Sunday Break, out of Good Blend (Darshaan).

Congratulations to everyone at Velka Chuchle racecourse for having everything looking fine, just three months after the racecourse was under water in the June floods. The re-sown grass is not yet well established, but the conditions appeared to be fit for racing, and are expected to improve in the coming weeks.

Next weekend there are meetings at Brno, on Saturday 7 September, and at Prague Velka Chuchle, on Sunday 8 September.
