The first meeting of the 2014 season at Pardubice will be held on Thursday, May 8^th. The first race will be at 1 pm, and there are 9 races on the card. There will be two races over hurdles and seven cross-country chases. Each of the races has at least 10 declared runners, and the course should be in good condition thanks to favorable weather conditions and major efforts by Jiří Janda and his staff.

The main race is the Category I Korok Opening Steeplechase, over 4500 metres. Last year’s winner, Zarif, takes on Kasim and Tropic de Brion, which finished 4th and 6th, well beaten, in the 2013 Velka Pardubicka, and thirteen others.

There are plenty of interesting runners, including Derby winners Age of Jape and Mister Aviation, as well as St Leger winner Atack.
