Change of jockey for the Czech Derby

The announcement on Monday of Northern Irish jockey Pat Cosgrave as the declared jockey for Vainakh in the 94th Czech Derby, sponsored by the Charvát Group. raised some eyebrows. He was known to be serving a six-month suspension imposed by the racing authorities in the Dubai. Although the UK racing authorities have reduced his suspension and he has been riding at Ascot this week, his Dubai suspension is thought to remain valid, and no dispensation has been granted for him to ride in the Czech Republic.

It has now been announced that Robert Havlin will ride Vainakh. Havlin rode Lysyan in the 2011 Czech Derby.
