A lucrative weekend for Czech hurdlers and chasers

Czech horses won both the Wielka Partynicka and the Wielka Wroclawska at Wroclaw, Poland last Saturday and Sunday. The Wielka Partynicka was won by Makléř (not to be confused with Makler), owned by DS Pegas, trained by Greg Wroblewski and ridden by Thomas Boyer. The big race on Sunday was won by Jam Taki, owned by Staj Nýznerov, trained by Pavel Poles and ridden by Marcel Novák. Both winners have Polish links, as Greg Wroblewski is Polish-born, and Jam Taki is Polish-bred and was Polish-owned until he came to run in the Czech Republic as a 4-y-o.

The DS Pegas-Wroblewski-Boyer combination also won the main race at Prague Velka Chuchle on Sunday, when Gejzir won the EŽ Praha Gold Cup, hurdles, 4200 metres.

On Saturday at Merano, Brog Deas won the Gran Corsa Siepi, Graded 1, 400 metres, EUR 60 000. Brog Deas is owned by Monte Negro, trained by Radek Holčák, and was ridden by Jan Faltejsek.
