Twelve declared runners for the Gran Premio at Merano

Twelve runners have been declared for the Gran Premio at Merano this Sunday. The favourites will be last year's winner, Alpha Two, trained by Josef Váňa, and Italian-trained Dar Said. These two have fought out several close finishes in the past 12 months.  Six of the 12 runners are trained in the Czech Republic, four of them by Josef Váňa. Five are ridden by Czech jockeys, two  of whom, Josef Bartoš and Jan Faltejsek, will be trying to be winning riders of both the Gran Premio and the Velka Pardubicka, a feat which has been achieved in the past only by Petr Gehm.
