Fafintadenient wins at Auteil

Fafintadenient, trained by Josef Váňa snr, ridden by Josef Váňa jnr, won the Prix Quo Vadis, total prizemoney EUR 55 000, over fences at Auteuil on April 17th. Winning a race at this leading French steeplechase course is a considerable triumph for Czech racing, and our top trainer and our top jockey were both very pleased. There is no longer any alternative – we will all have to learn to say Fafintadenient without stuttering or hesitating.

After winning impressively on Velka Pardubicka day 2014, Fafintadenient won well at Strasbourg in November. The 8-y-o was trained in Italy until 2014, and has now returned to his excellent form as a novice at Merano.

Horses trained by Josef Váňa snr and ridden by Josef Váňa jnr have already won a number of races abroad before the beginning of our chasing season (which will start in earnest at Lysa nad Labem on May 1st). Taquari won a nice hurdles race in Milano on April 11th. Cornet Obolensky won promisingly at Milano on April 1st, and Big Mago – which won the 3-y-o hurdles race on Velka Pardubicka day in 2013, has won a couple of hurdles races, at Milano on April 1st and at Pisa on February 5th.
