Wroclaw racecourse joins the Crystal Cup

Since 2013, steeplechasing has been going from strength to strength at Wroclaw racecourse, in Poland. This racecourse is quite accessible for trainers and riders based in north Bohemia and north Moravia, several of whom regularly compete there. Unfortunately, the public transport links are still not very good, and the journey is also tedious by road.

The big meeting at Wroclaw is a two-day event early in September, featuring the Wielka Partynicka, over hurdles, and the Wielka Wroclawska, over fences. This year, it seems that there will also be a major event on June 19th, 2016. The feature race will be the Crystal Cup Steeplechase. http://www.crystalcup.org/GBR/Wroclaw-Racecourse.htm

For 2016, Wroclaw will be an a associate member of the Crystal Cup series of crosscountry steeplechases, with a view to becoming a full member as from 2017.

Racing in Poland has generally begun to thrive again. Służewic racecourse in Warsaw is the finest flat raccourse in central Europe. There are also meetings at Sopot, and at a private racecourse near Krakow.
