Sedmikraska wins the Czech Oaks

Twelve runners went to the start for the Rabbit CZ Holding 71st running of the Czech Oaks, run this year at Karlovy Vary racecourse. The official going was 4,1 (good), but it seemed to be quite soft in places. Petr Foret took Sedmikraska straight into the lead, and set a sensible pace. Sedmikraska was never headed, and only Venillia, beaten by 1¼lengths, put in a bit of a challenge in the run in.

British-bred Sedmikraska is by Excellent Art (GB) out of Starlit Sky (GB) (Galileo(IRE)). She is owned by DS Pegas, and is the first classic winner trained by Michal Lisek, who has been training at Zhoř for the last year and a half.

Three Czech-bred fillies finished in the prizemoney: Venillia, 2nd, Williann, 4th, and Krasava, 6th.
