Race conditions for the 2017 Velka Pardubicka

The 127th running of the Velka Pardubicka will be held on Sunday, October 8th, 2017.

In order to qualify for the race, horses must have completed one of the four qualification races held at Pardubice in May, June, August and September, or one of the races in the Crystal Cup series, or any steeplechase, crosscountry chase or crosscountry race run over a distance of 4 800 metres or more in France, the UK, Ireland or Italy since October 15th, 2016.

There are two changes to the race conditions for this year. The closing date for entries remains in May (Thursday, May 11th, CzK 10 000). However, there is now only one date for suppplementary entries, which is in late September (Thursday, September 20th, CzK 30 00000. This is better for foreign owners. In most cases, they do not want to commit to the Velka Pardubicka five months in advance, and they do not want to continue paying very steep supplementary entry fees.

The other change in the conditions is that riders will now be allowed to remount once after a fall.
