Apprentices give their tips for the Derby – Dana Bořánková

They really take an interest in the work that they are training for. They regularly appear in races for apprentices, and then, quite often, they attract the attention of other trainers and owners than those they do internships with. Some apprentices from the Middle School for Horseracing and Riding offer their tips for this year’s Derby.

Dana Bořánková rode in her first race on April 19th, 2015, on Ayran at Bratislava. Since that time, she has had a total of nine rides, and her best result has been her second place on Mary Yeats at Lysá nad Labem on May 1st this year.

“My tips are Black Canyon and Felix. Aeneas or Fighting Lips could spring a surpise. The track will probably be firm, and there should be a genuine pace. Which one would I like to win? Of course, Honza Raja, our colleague at the stable [Jan Rája rides Felix in the Derby]. But may the best one win on Sunday!”
