Rabbit Well grants another interview
I’ve watched a video of the race at Lysá several times, and perhaps I owe you an apology.
Why? Noone’s ever apologized to me before.
Well, I wrote that when your jockey came off, “It appeared to be something between a refusal, a fall, and just an attempt to shake his jockey off his back.”
O.K., that was nonsense, of course. But I knew you would change your mind when you watched the video. You’re a fair-minded man!
But I feel so sorry for you. Everyone’s been saying “Oh, Rabbit Well, he’s crazy! He’s gone too far this time?”
Do they really say that? You should all know one thing – I was just born unlucky.
I’m still not sure why Sertash fell off. Did his saddle slip, or something, after the Irish Bank?
It beats me. One moment we were going OK, the next moment he was on the ground. Racing’s a funny game!
And then you ran straight towards the other horses as they ran behind the copse. What happened?
I don’t know. What did you see on the video?
Nothing, it was all off camera. Are you OK?
I was a bit shocked, to tell you the truth, when I saw them coming towards me. Then there were three jockeys on the ground. It all happened in a flash. I’m still a bit shaky.
Well, I apologize to you on behalf of the Rabbit Well fan club. We’re looking forward to the next chapter in your eventful life story.
