Three Czech-trained horses are entered for the Swedish Grand National meeting

Just three Czech-trained horses are entered for the Swedish Grand National meeting at Strömsholm this year, on June 15th. All three, Tamas, Idol and Surin, are owned by Vocetka and are trained by Jana Nováková (photo) at Okrouhlo, not far from Prague Velká Chuchle racecourse.

Jana Nováková has already had five winners this season, which is one more than in her entire five previous seasons as a trainer. She also now has considerably more flat horses and jumpers in her yard than ever before.

In the last year and a half, she has been taking her horses to run in exotic places, such as Pisa, Treviso, Milano and Merano in Italy, Wroclaw in Poland, and Dresden in Germany. This year, she has already twice taken horses to Blommeröd, in southern Sweden, winning a steeplechase there with Hádés.

Strömsholm will be by some margin her furthest trip so far with racehorses.
