The European Jockeys’ Cup will be held, after all! On September 26th

The European Jockeys’ Cup has been held each year since 2015 at Prague Velká Chuchle racecourse. The sixth annual meeting was first announced and was then cancelled due to complications caused by coronavirus. Among other things, the rearrangements of the European racing calendar made the original date for the meeting  impossible. However, the organizers are now planning and arranging to hold the meeting on Sunday 27 September.

It has been necessary to reduce the prizemoney for the four feature races, especially for the top race of the day, the EJC Million. The prizemoney for this race will now be CZK 1 200 000, which is unfortunately less than half of last year’s prize. The prizemoney for the three other feature races has been reduced to a less extent, and will be CZK 700 000 for EJC Middle, and CZK 600 000 for the new EJC Fillies and Mares Cup and for the new EJC Juvenile Sprint.

The EJC raceday is already established as a rival for Czech Derby day as the flat racing event of the Czech season, and we all hope that the organizers’ great efforts will again result in an outstanding day at the racecourse.
