Please note that there is no racing at Prague Velka Chuchle on Sunday June15th. The course is being prepared so that it will be at its best on Derby Day - Sunday June 22nd.

The last forfeit stage for the Derby is on Thursday June 12th, and declarations to run will be announced on Monday June 16th.

The feature race at Pardubice on Saturday, June 14th, will be the Gold Cup, held this year for the first time under the auspices of the President of the Czech Parliament. This is on the classical steeplechase course, over 4400 metres, Listed, for prize money of CzK 300 000. The race has attracted a good field, including Khalshani, winner of the first two races in the Josef Vana Prize series last summer, Rabbit Well, easy winner of First of May Prize at Lysa-nad-Labem this year, and three established top classical chasers, Cariray, Taro and Gejzir. 5-y-o Brog Deas beat Gejzir impressively at Pardubice on May 8th, in his debut over fences and his first race in the Czech Republic. Another interesting runner, in another race, is Belmont, a Velka Pardubicka hopeful, which is reappearing on the course after a 20-month absence. There are 10 races on the card at Pardubice, first race at 1 p.m.

The first race at Karlovy Vary on Sunday is at 2.30 p.m. The town and the racecourse are well worth a visit, and can nowadays be reached by an excellent bus service from Prague.
