Racing at Lysa, Velka Chuchle and in Poland this weekend

Racing this weekend in the Czech Republic will be at Lysa-nad-Labem on Saturday, where there will be a mixed meeting with seven races on the card, first race at 2 p.m. There are plenty of declared runners, but no races for high-quality horses.

At Prague Velka Chuchle on Sunday the first race is also at 2 p.m. There are nine races on the card. Unusually, the main event is a hurdles race, the Elektrizace Železnic Praha, a.s. Gold Cup, with prize money of CzK 360 000, our best prize money of the year for a hurdles race. Gejzir will be a warm favourite, though he has to beat several that were good on the flat and also have some form over hurdles: Taro, Greek Wedding and, in particular, 4-y-o Barateus, which has won all three of his races over hurdles and fences, though not against opposition of this quality.

This weekend there is also the high point of the jumps season in Wroclaw, Poland, where there is very good prize money for the Wielka Partynicka, over hurdles, on Saturday and for the Wielka Wroclawska, over fences, on Sunday.
