Dumnonia wins the One Thousand Guineas with great ease

French-bred Dumnonia ran right away from the field in the Czech One Thousand Guineas (the 67th running of the ALAVIS Spring Prize for Fillies) at Prague Velka Chuchle on May 3rd, and won, easing up, by 5 lengths. This was an impressive performance, though it is yet to be seen how much she beat.

DUMNONIA(FR) is by Silver Frost(IRE), out of Dentelle(FR) (Apeldoorn(FR)). She is owned by Dr Jiří Charvát, and is trained by Pavel Tůma. She was ridden by Jan Verner.

Next weekend, there is racing at Pardubice on Friday, May 8th, and at Prague Velká Chuchle on Sunday, May 10th. On Sunday, the feature race is the Czech Two Thousand Guineas (the 94th running of the Rabbit Holding Spring Grand Prix for Colts). The favourite is likely to be Aldar, comfortable winner of the main Guineas trial race at Prague Velka Chuchle on April 19th.

Please note that the first race on May 10th will be at 1 p.m.
