Aldar wins the Czech 2000 Guineas

The Czech Two Thousand Guineas (the 94th running of the Rabbit Holding CZ Spring Grand Prix), Listed, 1600 metres, CzK 700.000, run at Prague Velká Chuche, was won by the odds-on favourite, Aldar. French-bred Aldar, by New Approach (IRE) out of an Aldabaran (USA) mare, won by 1¼ from Tamarind Cove (IRE), with Sirius Shine (IRE) in 3rd place.

Aldar is owned by Ramzan Kadyrov, trained here by Arslangirej Šavujev, and was ridden by Bauyrzhan Murzabayev. Murzabayev has been the Czech champion jockey for the last two years, and is again leading the championship this year. This was his first classic winner.

Later in the afternoon, Touch of Genius, trained by Josef Váňa, won a Category III race for 3-y-os over 2400 metres. He won in some style, and could be a contender for the Czech Derby, which will be run at Prague Velka Chuchle on Sunday, June 21st.
