Big wins for Trip to Rhodos, Mustamir, Meandre, Tamarind Bay and Delight my Fire, all in the same weekend.

Czech-trained horses had plenty of success on September 5th and 6th. French-bred Trip to Rhodos, by Raillink out of Tropical Mark, won a Listed race at Baden Baden on the Saturday, the Mercedes-Benz Steherpreis, over 2800 metres. 6-y-o Trip to Rhodes is owned by Dr Charvát and is trained by Pavel Tůma. He was ridden by Christian Demuro.

Both of the feature races at the big meeting at Wroclaw went to Czech-trained horses. Mustamir, trained by František Holčák and ridden by Marcel Novák, won the Wielka Partynicka, over hurdles, on the Saturday, and the Wielka Wroclawska went to Delight My Fire, trained by Radim Bodlák and ridden by Lukáš Matuský.

On Sunday at Prague Velká Chuchle, the Conseq Czech Turf Grand Prix, 2400 metres, was a race of very high class by our standards. French-bred Meandre, by Slickly out of Penne, drifted away from the rest in the last couple of furlongs, and only Autor was good enough to finish not far behind him. 7-y-o Meandre is owned by Ramzan Kadyrov, is trained by Arslangirej Šavujev, and was ridden by Bauzryhan Muryabazev.

Thirty-five minutes later, in the Martin Tour Travel Agency Prague Grand Prix, our attention was on two Kadyrov-owned, Šavujev-trained horses, Zazou and Dashing Home, which were battling with each other on the inside rail. However, Tamarind Cove, third in the Czech Derby was keeping pace with them running down the centre of the course, and sprung a surprise by holding on to win by half a length from Dashing Home.   Irish-bred Tamarind Cove is by Galileo out of Saoire. He is owned by Statek Blata Česky Raj, trained by Josef Váňa and was ridden by Jaromír Šafář.
