No Irish runners expected for the Velka Pardubicka

Latest information is that neither of the two Irish-trained entries for the Velka Pardubicka will run in the race. The Cub, trained by Tommy O'Neill, suffered a setback on his last run and will have to take some time off, and the owners of Current Exchange have decided against coming to the Czech Republic.

No UK-trained horses were entered this year. However, it seems likely that some French-trained horses will come. For example, Pasquini Rouge, a 7-y-o gelding owned by Ecurie des Dunes and trained by Patrice Quinton, and Torpille d’Ainay, an 8-y-o mare owned by Location Torpille d’Ainay and trained by Emmanuel Clayeux were both supplemented for the VP at the end of August.

In any case, a remarkable number of Czech-trained horses have qualified for the race, and a full field of 25 runners can be expected for the VP on Sunday, October 11th.
