The organizers are pleased to have 21 entries for the Swedish Grand National and also for the Swedish Champion Hurdle, which will be run at Strömsholm on June 11^th. The Czech Republic will be well represented in both races.

Trainer Stanislav Popelka made a successful attack on Strömsholm last year, taking 2^nd place in the Grand National with Hawa Bali, ridden by Marek Stromský. This year, he has entered Al Bustan for the Grand National and Vicody for the Champion Hurdle.

Trainer Radim Bodlák has Taurito entered for the Swedish Champion Hurdle. Taurito is Swedish-owned, (Stall Hvistas Stjerna). The same owner ran Douna, also trained by Radim Bodlák, in the Czech 1000 Guineas last weekend.

It is hoped that jockey Josef Bartoš will ride at Strömsholm. He is also expected to ride Taurito and stable companion Catch the Cash at the final meeting at Täby racecourse in Stockholm on May 18^th. Last year, Marek Stromský rode at Strömsholm, and Lukáš Sloup won the Grand National on Ländler, which is entered again this year.

Czech-born German-based trainer Pavel Vovcenko must have a good chance of winning the Grand National with Kazzio.

Several Czech-bred horses are entered for the main races at Strömsholm: Moderator, Neverland, Princ Bajaja, Taurito and Torres.

Moss Cloud, entered for the Grand National, finished third in the inaugural Czech Grand National at Prague Velká Chuchle last October, in spite of veering away to the left at each fence.

There are horses from six countries entered for the Swedish Grand National (Sweden, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Norway and the Czech Republic).
