The weather turned chilly and wet in the Czech Republic last weekend, though I am told that Pardubice, as so often, has had less rain than the rest of us so far. In the mountains it has been snowing. Be prepared for near-freezing temperatures at night this weekend.

If you are going to be in any of the old stands at the racecourse, or if you do not have a seat, dress warmly and bring your rainwear. Have in mind that all the stands face north, and only the D Stand (the Town Stand) is glassed in and heated.

If you are in a box in the D stand, have in mind that the Czech guests will be wearing ‘smart casual’. Plenty of the ladies will be wearing hats, high heels and stunning dresses. I am not sure this is appropriate for a chilly day at the racecourse, but, in those boxes, it is appreciated if you are more or less smartly dressed.
