A Heavy Dose of Emotions is the title of a downloadable booklet that has been published on the Wroclaw Partynice racecourse website, aimed at attracting visitors and business partners to the racecourse.
The midsummer part of the Czech racing season has offered limited opportunities for horses to run recently. Trainers and owners have had to look outside the country, or to wait until our main courses begin their autumn season.
Nowadays, three central European countries put on their most prestigious steeplechase in the period between the beginning of September and the middle of October. All three races are well worth seeing. British racing fans should take the opportunity to experience these races before we need a visa to get to them.
Thank goodness for the European Union! Without it, Czech racing would have had a very thin month in July 2016. Thanks to open borders and compatible veterinary documentation, however, our horses have been able to run in a number of EU member countries.
Twelve runners went to the start for the Rabbit CZ Holding 71st running of the Czech Oaks, run this year at Karlovy Vary racecourse. The official going was 4,1 (good), but it seemed to be quite soft in places. Petr Foret took Sedmikraska straight into the lead, and set a sensible pace.
