The Czech Derby will be run on Thursday, June 23^rd, at 7.30 p.m., and according to the press conference held at the splendid Imperial Hotel in Prague, everything will be ready on the day. We were informed that the current going is 3.8 (good, good-to-soft). However, the weather forecast predicts high temperatures and drying conditions in the last 24 hours before the race, especially on Thursday.

Marcus Aurelius, trained by Stanislav Popelka and ridden by Lukáš Sloup, won the Familjen Perssons Minneslöpning (3500 metres, KCz 80000) at Strömsholm, Sweden on Saturday, a race which the horse had also won in 2015. Catch the Cash, trained by Radim Bodlák, was a non-runner in this race.

According to the Prague Velká Chuchle racecourse website, the second running of the Agrofert Velká Národní (Grand National) Steeplechase will be on Sunday, August 29th, for the Josef Váňa Cup. As far as I know, no race conditions have yet been published.

According to information provided by ČTK, after an auction held on May 27^th, president of the Jockey Club of the Czech Republic, Jiří Charvát, has become the majority shareholder of Most racecourse.
