Greg Wroblewski finished as private trainer for Pegas at Zhoř at the end of October, and will now be available as a public trainer. There is a strong rumour that Michal Lisek will take over at Zhoř, and a strong denial that Čestmír Olehla will take on the job. Michal Lisek trained at Prague Velka Chuchle until 2013, and has spent the last year in the UK.
Most years, there are clear signs by the end of October that winter is coming to the Czech Republic, and that the horseracing season is over. Not this year. We have had a series of warm and pleasant Saturday and Sunday racedays throughout October, though admittedly it has been getting dark and cooling down much earlier in the day than in early autumn.
Na poslednom dostihovom mítingu slovenskej sezóny 2014 sa jazdcovi Michalovi Abíkovi podaril rovnaký kúsok ako pred týždňom - získal hetrik, ktorý mu zabezpečil zisk šampionátu (18 plných zásahov) s náskokom 5 víťazstiev na druhého Róberta Šaru (13 triumfov). Ten dnes nebodoval, takže rozdiel sa len navýšil. O šampionát prišiel ešte teoreticky zabojovať aj tretí Tomáš Lukášek, ale jeho šanca už bola minimálna. Síce sa mu dnes podarilo vyhrať, ale to ho už s 12 zásahmi len priblížilo k Šarovi.
V posledných dňoch už akoby nám aj počasie hlásilo, že je čas skončiť s dostihovou sezónou. O bratislavskú derniéru sa postará dostihový míting s ôsmimi položkami. Najvýznamnejším testom bude Cena Mojmíroviec - Urmína - Veľká októbrová cena na 2000 metrov o 6400 eur. V štartovom poli nájdeme niekoľko zaujímavých koní a stávkujúci diváci to budú mať naozaj ťažké. Zdá sa, že ku koncu sezóny sa zlepšuje forma zverencov Zuzany Kubovičovej, ktorá nasedlá navrátilca na dostihové dráhy Innovatora a rekonvalescenta Move Your Vision.
Dostihová sezóna na Slovensku sa dostáva do finále, dnes bol v Bratislave na programe predposledný míting. Tentokrát sa predstavili kone iba v nižších kategóriách, ale ani to nezabránilo zaujímavým a napínavým dobehom. Okrem toho sa vyostruje súboj o rovinový jazdecký šampionát. Pred zahájením dnešného popoludnia viedol Róbert Šara o jednu paličku, ale jeho prenasledovateľovi Michalovi Abíkovi sa mimoriadne darilo a večer už bolo skóre opačné. Do posledného dostihového dňa ide Michal Abík s náskokom dvoch prvenstiev.

Hlavným testom je dvojkový Memoriál RNDr. Juraja Gressnera na 1800 metrov o 3300 eur. Medzi šiestimi aktérmi nájdeme aj dvoch víťazov spred dvoch týždňov Wuelta z Vadualu a Wandukeho zo stajne AUTOOPRAVOVŇA Strnisko, dvojicu kolegov z lotu Michala Ročáka Rheingoldringa a Thunderballa a dve štvornohé dámy Filealanglaise a Meny Bay.
The entire Velka Pardubicka racing day is shown on Czech non-commercial television, beginning at 11 o’clock, half an hour before the first race, and ending after 5 pm, when key participants in the great race have all been interviewed, and the curtain is drawn. The 2014 Velka Pardubicka was run on a warm sunny afternoon, and there were three questions before the race. Would Orphée win again? What about Josef Váňa? And would Martina Ružíčková get round for the first time, at the sixth attempt?
