V Bratislave sa dnes konal 37. ročník mítingu Turf-gala s piatimi dostihmi so štatútom Listed alebo Gd-3. Po kvalitatívne aj kvantitatívne silno obsadených testoch sa trikrát hrala slovenská hymna a dvakrát česká, dvojicu Gd-3 zápolení si české a slovenské kone spravodlivo rozdelili. Patronát nad štyrmi hlavnými dostihmi (okrem Ceny Ministerstva pôdohospodárstva a rozvoja vidieka SR) prevzala Allianz - Slovenská poisťovňa a záštitu nad mítingom minister pôdohospodárstva a rozvoja vidieka SR Ľubomír Jahnátek. 

 It’s going to be a closely fought Derby. The final trial raises expectations

The first of the four qualification races for the 2015 Velka Pardubicka was run on good ground at Pardubice racecourse on May 23rd. There were 18 runners. Trezor, winner of 5 VP qualification races was unable to run, due to problems with shoeing him. There were 16 finishers, which all thus qualify for the VP, which will be run on Sunday, October 11th. Universe of Gracie, which finished 4th in last year’s VP, ridden by Jan Faltejsek, went to the front from the beginning of the race, and was only briefly headed on the last bend.

Dear Horseracing Fans

In recent days, things have been bubbling in Czech horseracing, and not just because the season is in full flow.

The race conditions for the second half of the Czech horseracing season, which is the main part of the season as far as 2-y-os are concerned, will be finalized at the meeting of the Council of the Jockey Club on May 15^th.

The Czech Two Thousand Guineas (the 94^th running of the Rabbit Holding CZ Spring Grand Prix), Listed, 1600 metres, CzK 700.000, run at Prague Velká Chuche, was won by the odds-on favourite, Aldar. French-bred Aldar, by New Approach (IRE) out of an Aldabaran (USA) mare, won by 1¼ from Tamarind Cove (IRE), with Sirius Shine (IRE) in 3^rd place.

French-bred Dumnonia ran right away from the field in the Czech One Thousand Guineas (the 67^th running of the ALAVIS Spring Prize for Fillies) at Prague Velka Chuchle on May 3^rd, and won, easing up, by 5 lengths. This was an impressive performance, though it is yet to be seen how much she beat.

Thirteen days before the beginning of the Czech horseracing season at Prague Velká Chuchle racecourse (Conseq Park), which will be on Sunday, April 6^th, a press conference was held at the Park Inn Hotel by the organisers of racing at Velká Chuchle.

Ebreichsdorf, the only racecourse operating in Austria in recent years, announced earlier this year that it would no longer hold flat race meetings. Now it seems that the racecourse will offer three mixed race meetings, including Austrian Derby day.
