Top Czech trainers challenge for the main races at Warsaw on September 7th and 8th
Submitted by Robin on 28. August 2013 - 11:21As expected, the leading Czech-based trainers are sending good horses for the main races at Warsaw Partynice on September 7th and 8th. Cestmir Olehla has three entries in the two big races. In the Wielka Wroclawska, his Demon Magic, third in last year’s Gran Premio at Merano, will be well favoured. Ursan, trained by Stanislav Popelka, is well established among our leading chasers, and won the Nagroda Tiumena at Wroclaw Partynice on August 11th. Five of the declared runners are Czech-trained, and the other five are Polish-trained.

Big efforts have been in the summer months to make the course fit for racing in September and October, when there will be meetings every Sunday afternoon except October 13th, which is Velka Pardubicka day.

The Ministry of Agriculture pulls the plug on the Josef Vana Cup
Submitted by Robin on 21. August 2013 - 20:52The explanation for the cancellation of the last of the three races in the Josef Vana Cup series of classical steeplechases is that the sponsor was unable to raise the money. The race was to have been held at Most Racecourse on August 31st.
Josef Vana snr will ride Tiumen at Pardubice on Saturday. Leading Velka Pardubicka contenders warm up.

The last of the three races in the Josef Vana Cup steeplechase series is cancelled
Submitted by Robin on 20. August 2013 - 12:03Most racecourse and the Jockey Club of the Czech Republic have announced the cancellation of the final race in the Josef Vana Summer Cup series of classical steeplechases. The reason given is that the sponsors have failed to come up with the money.
As the three races in this series are the best-sponsored classical steeplechases of the Czech season, at CzK 1 million for each race, our trainers and riders will be sad to miss the opportunity to win a share of the prize money.
